Susan Andrien — Executive Director

Susan Andrien is an experienced and passionate leader in youth development, education, and community programs with over 30 years of experience in schools, camps, and youth-serving organizations. She holds certification as an American Camp Association Camp Director, is the creator of the Neuro-Somatic Integration Framework (NSI), and has led summer programs that integrate play and leadership development for children and teens. Her camp experience includes 10 years directing a therapeutic summer program with Lincoln Family Services, 2 years in leadership with North American Trails traveling summer camp, and 1 year as Algebra Camp Director for Oakland Unified School District. For the past two and a half years, Susan has served as Executive Director of the Chilmark Community Center, leading program revitalization and community engagement efforts. Though based in Oakland, Susan has deep roots on Martha's Vineyard — beginning in 1981 she spent childhood summers in Aquinnah and teen summers working on the island. For Susan, leading the CCC is both personal and purposeful.

Maggie Brelis-Farrell — Administrative Director

Maggie brings a deep love for community and a longstanding connection to the CCC. After nearly a decade as a camper, she spent several years as a staffer, eventually leading the 13-14 year-old age group. She met her husband at the camp and they recently welcomed a daughter. Maggie has extensive experience in project management, operations, and administration from her decade of work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, including leading digital content production for Dwayne Johnson.

Dr. Carrie Flyer — Youth Program Director

Dr. Carrie Fyler is an educator, program builder, and community leader dedicated to creating joyful, engaging learning environments. Deeply rooted on Martha's Vineyard, she has collaborated with Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Native Earth Teaching Farm, Island Grown Initiative, and more. In 2019, she was honored as a Vineyard Vision Fellow. For the past two years, she has served as Program Director at the CCC, building an inclusive, creative, and thriving summer program for children ages 4-14.

Jay Brelis-Farrell — Athletic Director

Jay has more than a decade of experience working at the Chilmark Community Center. As a child, he would frequent the Vineyard and the CCC, becoming a full-time summer resident in his early teens. It was at the camp that he met his wife. After several years as a counselor, he served as Camp Director for 3 years before joining the Board in 2021. He brings strong leadership, a love of sports, and a commitment to building an inclusive, energetic camp environment where every child can thrive.

Tad Cohn — Sailing Director

Tad has been sailing on Menemsha Pond since he was old enough to walk. A lifelong sailor with deep roots in Chilmark, his connection to CCC spans decades — as a camper, sailing student, and now as a dedicated leader on the waterfront. During the year, Tad teaches high school English in Paterson, New Jersey. His background in education brings structure, creativity, and patience to the program, helping young sailors build skills, confidence, and a love for the water.

Evan Edwards — Tennis Operations Director

Evan is a Professional Tennis Registry Level 1 certified coach with over 6 years of experience coaching all ages and skill levels. He is currently a student athlete at Radford University competing on the division 1 tennis team. Evan returns to the CCC with a deep commitment to building on the success of the 2025 season — by the end of last summer, clinics were regularly selling out and players of all ages were thriving.

Kylie Craig — Sailing Coordinator

Returning for her sixth summer teaching sailing at the CCC, Kylie Craig is a rising junior on the Boston College sailing team. Off the water, she's a double major in neuroscience and applied psychology. When she's not sailing, she loves to spend her time on the beach and listening to country music.

Mindi Murch — Playschool Director

Mindi has been coming to MVY since she was a child. She has been working with children, ranging in age from preschool to 8th grade, including those with special needs, for as long as she can remember. She studied child psychology at New England College and earned her CDA and EEC licenses. Her passions include music and traveling as long and far as she can. From New Zealand, Japan, Bali and beyond, she loves meeting new people and embracing our differences. She has been working at the CCC for over 5 years, as well as at the Chilmark Preschool. Each summer she looks forward to seeing the smiles and sense of community at CCC. Her goal is to create a space where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to try something new.
