Every Age. Every Interest. One Community.
From our youngest Playschool campers taking their first steps into creative play, to sailors catching the wind on Menemsha Pond, to adults finding their game on the tennis courts — the Chilmark Community Center offers a full summer of programs designed to inspire, challenge, and connect. Whether your family is looking for morning camp, afternoon enrichment, competitive athletics, or simply a place to belong, there's something here for everyone ages 3½ to adult, late June through Labor Day!
Playschool and Little Sprouts
For our youngest campers, we offer morning Playschool (ages 3½-4) and Little Sprouts (age 5), a developmentally appropriate blend of art, music, gardening, and movement. This is our most structured program, creating the predictability needed to support the developmental needs of the youngest campers. We expect to serve approximately 40 preschoolers each week, helping them build confidence and social skills through hands-on exploration.
Morning Camp 9:00-12:00
Our Morning Program (ages 6–12) and Youth Leadership Program (ages 13-14) serve about 150 children each week. These two programs are based on a structured, freeplay model where counselors provide a framework for the day while campers choose how to engage. Our approach fosters independence, creativity, and problem-solving while maintaining appropriate supervision. For young teens in the Youth Leadership Program, the program also incorporates leadership experiences, including producing the camp newsletter each week.
Camp and Youth Leadership Program have daily opportunities to participate in Art, Tennis, STEAM, Crafts, Performing Arts, and Court and Field Sports. Programming includes weekly opportunities for Photography, Gardening, and Tie Dye!
Afternoon Camp
For children who wish to stay longer—and for parents who need full-day camp coverage—we offer an Afternoon Program from 12-3pm that continues the Morning Camp experience. Historically, this program has been available only to children age 6 and older. In 2026, however, we have introduced a small afternoon program for playschool-aged children, with a maximum capacity of 15 campers. Extended day (until 5:00 PM) for families in need of additional childcare is available on a first come first serve basis
Summer Stage: A Performing Arts Camp for Young Artists August 17th—August 28th
Discover your voice, move your body, and bring your stories to life! This late-summer camp invites young performers ages 6 and up to explore the thrilling world of the performing arts through stage presence, creative writing, and live performance.
Led by a team of experienced teaching artists with decades of professional experience across theater, movement, and poetry, campers will build confidence, spark creativity, and develop real skills in a joyful, supportive environment. From crafting original stories and poems to learning how to own the stage, every young artist will find their unique expression — and share it with the world.
Whether your child is a first-time performer or a budding star, this camp is the perfect place to grow, create, and shine.
Tennis Program
Tennis is woven into every camper's week at CCC — all campers, from Playschool to Youth Leadership, get time on the courts in a fun, supportive environment. Morning instruction introduces fundamentals through games and play, while the afternoon program offers a deeper experience for youth players looking to develop their skills and compete. Weekly matches with clubs across the island give afternoon program players the chance to put what they've learned into action. Led by, collegiate division 1, Tennis Director Evan Edwards, the goal is for every participant to leave the summer a more confident, capable player — skilled in technique, strategy, and sportsmanship.
Sailing
The CCC Sailing Program takes campers ages 8–14 out on the waters of Quitsa and Menemsha Ponds for a hands-on experience in one of Martha's Vineyard's most treasured traditions. The morning program runs daily and gives every sailor the chance to build real skills on the water with a small-group, instructor-led format.

Afternoon sessions expand the experience with advanced racing on Mondays and Wednesdays, and an introductory sailing program on Tuesdays that introduces younger campers to water safety and basic sailing. CCC Sailing thrives because it's a true community effort — staff, families, and local sailors all come together to make it happen.
New in 2026: Swimming & Water Safety
This summer, the CCC is bringing back swimming — and building something new in the process. Our water safety program teaches kids critical open-water skills while creating a pathway toward lifeguard certification. Led by Miles Brucculeri, who brings over 25 years of experience in swimming, open-water safety, and lifeguard training, the program runs weekday mornings with ages 11–15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and ages 7–10 on Wednesdays. It's not just about learning to swim — it's about building confidence in the water and giving the next generation of island kids the skills to keep their community safe. All on beautiful Lucy Vincent Beach!
