The Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is designed to offer 15-year-olds a unique opportunity to develop their leadership and professional skills in a supportive and hands-on environment. As part of this program, participants will work closely with experienced staff members to gain valuable insights into the dynamics of working with children in various settings.
Throughout the program, CITs will be introduced to a range of activities and responsibilities that will prepare them to work with childcare. These include developing and leading group activities, understanding the basics of child development, learning how to create a safe and inclusive environment. Additionally, CITs will receive guidance on how to communicate effectively with both children and adults, manage conflicts, and work as part of a team.
The CIT Program is not just about gaining practical experience; it also focuses on personal growth. Participants will engage in weekly group reflections that encourage self-reflection, build self-confidence, and enhance leadership qualities. These sessions are designed to prepare CITs for future employment opportunities in childcare and related fields by fostering a sense of responsibility, empathy, and professionalism..
