CCC is looking for dedicated leaders who can inspire, educate, and create unforgettable experiences for our community. Youth Program Director - to help develop and implement a rich, safe, and engaging program where all campers feel welcome and can participate in art, dance, drama, sports, group games as well as enriching programs from local artists and organizations.  The Youth Program Director will take an active role in planning camp staff training, program coordination in collaboration with the Executive Director, and identifying and working with our partners across the island to develop a robust program. The ideal candidate is creative and has strong leadership and communication skills and loves working with children and adolescents. They will serve as a liaison for families while also being hands-on in the daily activities of the campers and camp staff. They are collaborative and resourceful and will work to form partnerships with other island organizations to expand programming opportunities. They will support the overall operation of the summer program, and model a high level of professionalism and inclusion for campers, staff, and families.

Tennis Operations Director (New 2024) - to oversee our very active seasonal tennis program at the Chilmark Community Center. This role involves not only developing and implementing tailored programs for youth and adults but also managing and guiding a team of tennis professionals and our online reservation system. We operate 5 tennis courts (3 clay, 2 all-weather) with a program that includes a youth camp in which tennis is an integral option, an afternoon tennis camp, a late season tennis camp, and daily adult tennis clinics, private tennis lessons and tennis social events. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and management skills, comfortable with technology, communication skills, and a deep understanding of facilities operations.

Sailing Coordinator - Support the Sailing Operations Director to create a safe and engaging sailing experience for campers of all skill levels. Sailing certification highly preferred.

Adult Tennis Pro - is committed to offering inclusive and accessible recreational programs that cater to the diverse needs of our community. Our tennis program is focused on skill development, and providing an inclusive and fun approach for adult participants of a broad range of ages and abilities. We want to encourage active play, skill strengthening and an engaging experience for all players.

Youth Tennis Pro - is dedicated to providing diverse and accessible recreational programs for our campers ages 3.5 - 15 years. Our summer program, known for its broad range of activities, features a robust, fun and inclusive tennis program tailored to youths of varying skills and abilities, and designed to instill in all players a lifelong love of tennis.

Playschool Coordinator - to support the creation of a nurturing environment where our youngest campers can thrive. You will assist the Playschool Director in all aspects of the Playschool program for ages 3-1/2 - 5 years old and provide the highest quality care to ensure an enriching and fun experience for the children.


Counselors

2024 Summer Counselor Positions

The Chilmark Community Center is looking for enthusiastic, caring and qualified Summer Camp Counselors to work with campers ages 3-1/2 - 14 during our seven-week summer camp program which runs from July 1 through August 16, 2024. The CCC is an active and engaging environment where campers can choose daily activities based on their interests with the guidance and support of camp staff. Ideal candidates have experience and enjoy working with children, understand their role in providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all children, work collaboratively with other counselors, and are eager to participate in activities with campers daily. Estimated pay is $15-$21/hour based on experience and skills. Counselors in Training positions are unpaid salary but may receive a small stipend based on their work, including completing four weeks of training.

We are looking for counselors ages 16+ to work in  the Playschool program (children are 3-1/2- 5 years old), the Youth Camp program (ages 6-12) and the Youth Leadership Program (ages 13-14). We are also looking for counselors to support specialized areas in sports, sailing, tennis, arts, drama, music, dance, pottery, group games, STEAM, photography and other areas and ability to share your expertise with campers. 

  • Staff and counselors must be committed to work for at least four weeks of our summer season.  

  • We are looking for both morning counselors (8:30 - 12:15), afternoon counselors (12 - 3:15pm) and full day counselors (8:30 - 3:15pm). Counselors must be rising high school juniors or older.

  • Rising high school juniors will generally be considered for the Counselor in Training Program.  Please use this application if you are applying for the Counselor in Training Program.

Complete the work permit application and give the completed application to the appropriate school district to get your work.

  1. If you live in Massachusetts, go to the school superintendent for the town where you live or go to school.  Your superintendent may have designated someone in your school to issue work permits.

  2. If you do not live in Massachusetts, you will need to bring your completed application in person to the Martha’s Vineyard School Superintendent’s office when you arrive on the island to get the actual work permit. You will need proof of age such a passport, id or driver's license.

  3. Students in the Counselor in Training Program do not require work permits.
