Originally from Chicago, Sara currently works as a Library Media Specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a lifelong tennis player, and tennis programming professional, she brings tremendous energy, organizational skill, and experience to the Chilmark courts.
Alexandre Baker grew up in Paris but has spent all his summers in Chilmark since he was born. He just graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in History and International Relations. Alex has been teaching tennis at the Center for the past three years. Last summer he was the Assistant Adult Tennis Director and was also an Education Sheldon Hackney Fellow at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. He has played tennis in the US and internationally and has many years of experience working with adults and kids and teaching tennis to players of all levels and ages. He is looking forward to teaching tennis once again in Chilmark this summer.
I have nothing but love for tennis, a sport I've played since I was 7. Over the years, I have won many national tournaments and participated in many international tournaments in different countries. After moving to the US, I played at two Division 2 and one Division 1 college, and graduated with an ALL PSAC Men's Singles honor in 2023. My coaching philosophy emphasizes personalized instruction, technical skills, mental toughness, and a love for the game. I strive to help each individual achieve their personal best while ensuring they have fun and enjoy the sport. Off the court, I enjoy playing soccer, swimming, working out, and exploring new places. I'm excited to be a part of the CCC and look forward to contributing to the success and enjoyment of all members and players.
