Our Values Statement
Chilmark Community Center expects all participants in its programs, including campers, counselors, staff, and adult members to engage in positive interpersonal relationships including being inclusive and welcoming to people of diverse backgrounds, races, cultures, ethnicities, religious beliefs, gender, sexual orientation and abilities. Harassment and bullying will not be tolerated. Physical, verbal or emotional abuse or any speech, action or behavior that creates a hostile or intimidating environment and does not treat all participants with respect is not allowed. Those who are unable to respect and abide by these values cannot participate in CCC programs.
CTAC Plan Going Forward
In August 2021, CTAC made a commitment to our community to develop a plan for the future of the Chilmark Community Center to put it on a sustainable path that serves to build an inclusive and diverse environment.We are pleased to share this plan now here. The plan, written by a subcommittee of the CTAC Board, was approved by CTAC on September 29, 2021, and it was presented to the Town of Chilmark’s Select Board on October 18, 2021. The subcommittee who wrote the plan include Morgan Baker-Brelis, Michelle O’Connor, Suellen Lazarus and Nancy Dince Street.
Many people were consulted in developing this plan, and CTAC is grateful for the selfless and expert advice they provided. CTAC will continue its conversations and will seek advice of these and many others as we implement this plan. Some of those who helped are:
